Australia's most enduring maritime mystery. On November 19, 1941 HMAS Sydney II sighted a vessel 130 miles west of Shark Bay, Western Australia and turned to investigate. Ninety minutes later a brutal and vicious battle erupted between the German raider KORMORAN and SYDNEY. At the close of the battle German sailors, witnessed a crippled and badly burning HMAS Sydney limping south under the darkening skies. The Hunt for HMAS Sydney is an eyewitness account of the quest to locate the Sydney and her crew of 645 sailors, ending 66 years of speculation and anguish. It includes footage of the ceremony for the Sydney's crew and ROV underwater footage of HMAS Sydney wreck.
